Vision Night

Help Us Determine times for Easter Weekend.

We are offering an additional Gathering on Easter Weekend (April 4th) and need your help in deciding when to have it. Our desire is to get the maximum amount of people here to hear the Gospel and want to know what works best for the most people. The Gatherings will be identical in worship and teaching, so you will not miss out if you attend one or the other.

Please take a moment to vote - Are you more apt to attend a Saturday at 5:00 PM or a Sunday at 9:00 AM Gathering?

Kids, Kids, and More Kids.

In the Gospel of Matthew chapter 19 we see that Jesus welcomed children in to his ministry as he took time, out of his busy schedule, to minister to and pray for children. Although we see this example in the Gospels many churches ignore the importance and significance of ministering to children. In fact, many pastors hope for just one volunteer to 'baby-sit' or entertain children during the weekly service. Expectations are low, thus getting by week-to-week is the norm. There is no vision, nothing new, and nothing fun. A felt-board is as good as it gets. By the time a child becomes a teen no wonder they are ready to exit the church as fast as they can never to return. This ISN'T the case at Crosspointe!

I'm grateful for the heart that Crosspointe has for Children's Ministry and the vision to reach out to children in our community! In a recent survey, Barna.org found that 64 percent of people who accepted Christ in America did so before they were 18 years old. So, Jesus exemplified it...The numbers prove it...We should do it!

Today, at Crosspointe, was a landmark day as we had 70 children from infant to age 12!!! Throw in youth to the age of 18 years old and the sum is that approximately 45 percent of our congregants are 18 years and under!!! Now before you give me a lecture about how numbers don't matter and we shouldn't count and we should just preach "Jesus." Let me say, that these 'numbers' say many (great) things about Crosspointe. Here are a few...

1. You are not afraid of children running all through our building.

2. You are not afraid to step up to volunteer in children's ministry, events, and outreaches.

3. You are not afraid to encourage and minister to children!

4. You have an understanding that children are not tomorrow's church or the next generation rather they are today's church and the now generation!

5. You are not afraid to give generously to finance ministry for children.

Finally, Crosspointe is an awesome place to raise children with a warming atmosphere for families and a commitment to impart the truths of God's Word in the life of every child!

Weekend Wrap

1. ROOTS has been an incredible series to share with you. In ROOTS we are rediscovering our Salvation. Great Stuff.

2. Today was the best "all around" day that we've had in a while. Crosspointers are so friendly! It is the number one comment guests continue to make in describing us! Great job volunteers!

3. I loved praying for people at the front. I am believing for miracles of the "God" kind!

4. Today we had 7o children from newborn to 12 years old in church! That is off-the-hook!

5. Jets won! I didn't think they had it in them. Maybe Sanchez is the next generation quarterback that will rival the likes of Elway, Montana, and the Mannings. I'm just saying!

6. I am looking forward to the FORWARD CONFERENCE. This year's theme is "Forward in Focus!" Each night Lynn is going to encourage us to "focus" on the right stuff. Friday, Saturday, and Sunday can be the best 3 days in your life!

You Version Live

We launched You Version Live today in our gathering. You Version Live is an application that allows you to follow along with the weekly sermon via your cell phone. You can read the scriptures, take notes, and interact with polls and devotionals. It is a powerful tool and I am very excited to offer it at Crosspointe.

Weekend Wrap

"WOW" is the word that best describes our gathering at Crosspointe today! I want to say a special THANK YOU to all the men and women who serve at Crosspointe. Each week we have many people who volunteer in the nursery, children's, as ushers and greeters, and in the band. Thanks for all you do!!!

The worship set was awesome! I loved the songs we song this morning. Our band is maturing and growing into their own sound, which is awesome.

I preached part 2 of Roots. Today we looked at how Sin Distorts Our Lives and many responded to the sermon.

Connection Groups launch tonight at 5:00 PM! We have many groups for you to choose from. Connection Groups are the life blood of the church and offer a great way for you to be connected and grow in your relationship with God and others.

We launched YouVersion.com/live today, but heard we had some problems. Our team will work diligently to correct these problems and I will post instructions of how to download our sermon notes to your phone.

Weekend Wrap

This is the first weekend wrap of 2010. I am expecting great things to happen this year as we continue to build the God's Kingdom here in Ada. Here are a few highlights from our weekend.

1. It was awesome seeing all the people of Crosspointe! With the holidays and a blizzard that dumped 8 inches of snow in the area many had been out or unable to attend the past couple weeks, so it was great seeing everyone!

2. The band did a fantastic job! Steffanie has done a great job leading the band the past four years and I appreciate all the talented musicians that we have. Band, You are a HUGE blessing!!!

3. Started ROOTS! This will be a 13-week series for the entire family. We had glitch with the weekly devotions this week, but will correct it by next week.

4. The dinner was AWESOME. We are blessed with the BEST cooks. God has certainly sent some of the top-cooks in the area to our church. Thank you Jesus!!!

5. Looking forward to what God is in store for 2010! This will be our greatest year yet!
