My First Book Review

In Primal, Mark Batterson lays out in the simplest form how Christians are to love God in the most primal form. Mark believes that we must break out of the normal “Christian” life and live for Christ in this primal form of love! His words encouraged me to engage in the Great Commandment in a new level by being more compassionate towards others, embracing the wonder of Christ, growing in understanding of God, and increasing in strength of serving others. This is simply one of my top three books of 2009. I highly recommend that you order your copy today to experience the Primal Love for yourself.

Bitter Sweet Ending.

Today, I announced that Shelley Mitchell, Director of Elementary Ministries will no longer be serving on our staff as she has accepted a job as professor at Rose State College in Midwest City, OK. This is bitter/sweet for me. I have royally enjoyed serving along side Shelley the past four years and hate to see her leave, but I fully supported her dream in becoming a teacher. Therefore, I am extremely excited for her and her family as they endeavor in this new adventure together.

To honor all that Tony, Shelley, and their children have done at Crosspointe we will host a Fellowship Dinner following the January 3 gathering. More information will be made available soon.

Weekend Wrap

Christmas at Crosspointe was simply amazing! I would like to thank the numerous volunteers who served with excellence in making today such a success. One lady told me that it was the "greatest" Christmas service she had ever attended!

The Worship Band's performance was AWESOME as they performed an original production which was produced by our worship leader Steffanie Oltmans called "Christmas the Story of Life." It was absolutely perfect! Thank You to Steffanie, the band, the techs, and those who narrated the story. It was the best!

Here are a few pictures from the day...

Weekend Wrap

This has been an incredible weekend.
1. Haleigh and I left Jennifer at home by herself Friday and Saturday as we traveled to Antlers to see my parents. Jennifer was able to do whatever she wanted. She loved it!

2. I went hunting this weekend, again, and didn't see anything to shoot, but being in the woods was good enough!

3. I was excited to launch this new series, "Jesus is..." Today, I taught that all of Life is found in Jesus!

4. Church was awesome today! Many people responded to the call for prayer. I thought the band did great!

5. We did our annual information update today and I appreciate all the Crosspointers for their patience in doing this. The update helps us to keep all of our information updated.

6. We have been listening to Christmas music all day, which is a change from us watching a NFL game.

7. I'm pumped up about the Christmas at Crosspointe on December 2oth. It is it going to be a really special day with music, communion, Santa Clause, and candy.
