Church Cancelled for Wednesday.

Due to inclement weather all church activities are cancelled for Wednesday, January 28.

Why Vision is Important.

Proverbs 29:18 says, "Where there is no vision, the people perish."  Therefore  we can assume that where there is vision there is life!  Vision is life!  Here are two reasons of why I think Vision is vitally important.

1.  Vision Provides Safety.
I have two great friends who are blind and when we have the chance we enjoy going out to eat together.  One thing is for sure though when we do get to go out to dinner.  They aren't driving to the restaurant!!!  Why? Because they don't have the proper vision to make the right decisions to maneuver the vehicle and without that vision their driving would lead to a crash and maybe even death!!!  As I said, they are great people and are awesome Christians and do a lot of good, but they can't see to drive.  However, with my 20/20 vision I can get us to our destination safely.  Get in a church where the leaders have vision!

2.  Vision Provides Security.
I have an uncle who works as a Security Guard at a local prison.  Once, when I visited him there I noticed that there where two guards stationed high in a tower.  This height advantage gave them better vision of the prison grounds and allowed them to see every move the prisoners made.  Their vision provided security not only to the prisoners, but also the surrounding communities.  Churches with the proper vision of Christ can be a safe and secure place to worship!
"The Lord is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower." - Psalms 18:2

Vision isn't just important, it's vital for your existence!

Amazing People.

Last night, I had gotten home from the church at 11:30 PM with all intentions of sitting down for a few minutes to relax and watch the post-inauguration coverage and to eat a snack before heading off to bed.  But, as soon I rummaged through the pantry for junk food the thought "we have INCREDIBLE people" at Crosspointe hit me in the heart and it messed me up and here's why...

In December, I stood before you and asked that you give a sacrificial offering to the church which would go towards the redesigning of our stage, which so happened to be a time when we were in the middle of a horrible recession and people were purchasing Christmas gifts for family and friends.  And yet YOU exceeded all our expectations and gave almost our entire goal in one day!!!  Wow!

Then the plan was to have volunteers do all the work which would save us substantial amounts of money and allow us to do more for less.  Well, in NINE days - YOU DID IT.  With over 40 volunteers and 9 long days we made the transition.  Crosspointe, you never cease to amazing me by your generosity, belief in the vision, and service to God. Because of that - you are an amazing people!

Weekend Wrap

We had a wonderful day yesterday as I concluded the series entitled, "MADE."  I encouraged people to unleash their creativity.

The stage redesign is looking great!  I really appreciate all the wonderful people that God has put in place at Crosspointe Church.  A people with passion, purpose, and service to do what God has called us to do.

I will post a couple pics this afternoon.

I'm gearing up for the Forward Conference which starts this Friday night at 7:00.  Please invite everyone you know to attend the conference with you.  I am expected God to do wonderful things in your life.

Friday Fun...

1.  The Sooners Lost!  This will for sure bum me out for a few days.  Any ideas on how to cheer me up?

2.  We are taking down all our Christmas Decorations this weekend which means I will soon climb atop our roof.  Pray for me.

3.  It is going to be a gorgeous day outside so I am going to pick Haleigh up from daycare this afternoon to play outside together.  I love our time together.

4.  Did I mention that the Sooners lost, again, urg!!!

5.  Day 6 for the Daniel fast!  We are a third of the way there.  Giving up coffee was much easier than I thought it would have been. Tonight, we are having potato soup!

Chronicles of Fasting 2

Wow!  What an amazing gathering we had Wednesday night at Crosspointe.  The presence of God was so thick and the power of God was so evident that I know many people's lives were encouraged and strengthened.  I am so proud of YOU, the people of Crosspointe, who are fasting and praying together.  When (a few months back) God put this idea of the Spiritual Elevation Challenge  on my heart I found myself nervous to announce it for the fear of response.  I know one thing people dislike to give up and that is there food and drinks!  Much to my amazement our people rallied around the idea for they too heard the voice of the Lord beckoning us to a corporate fast and now more than 50 people are fasting for 18 days together!

During this time expect God to move in your life in a new, fresh way.  This is the hour for us to harness the presence of God and to worship Him in the beauty of His Holiness!!!

Chronicles of Fasting 1

Our church began the Spiritual Elevation Challenge which includes a daily bible study, 18 day Daniel Fast, and a weekly prayer gathering today.  I am so excited to see what God is going to do in our lives during the next three weeks...I know it is going to be great.

During the next 18 days I am going to post things that are helpful tools that will encourage you during the fast.  If you have joined us, you should pick up a SEC Handbook and the daily devotional books which are located in our lobby.

What is the Daniel Fast?

The Daniel Fast is a partial fast, which means that we will eliminate some common things from our daily diet, but will have generous options available. We will focus on eating fruits and vegetables that are pure and simple. We have included a list of foods to eat and foods to avoid.

Here is a list of a few foods that my family has really found helpful while on the Daniel Fast.

Smucker's Peanut Butter, All natural jelly, Smart Balance Omega 3 Butter, TrueNorth Almond Cluster (100%), All grain pasta's and tortilla shells, Popcorn, Smart Balance oil, Ezekiel bread, and sea salt.

Here is a helpful website that will give you more insight.  www.danielfast.wordpress.com.
