One Ministries

Last night five local churches met together to serve our community and make a difference in people's lives and I believe that it marked an eternal change in Ada.  As we came together as ONE there was no competition, jealousy, or territorialism!  There was lots of humility, unity, and support for each other!  Through the evening it seemed that we got "it", and we served not as a church, but as the CHURCH!  Not being a voice for our specific church and not promoting our chosen style of worship seemed to be the sounds from the Feed the Children Outreach event. Instead, over 200 volunteers met to be the hands, feet, and mouthpieces of God.  We were HIS ambassadors, promoting Christ and Him alone!

This unity is what our community has needed for some time and some have been longing for it.  I've had long-time members of our congregation say, "finally" and breathe a sigh of relief knowing that our generation will work together for the good of the Kingdom of God by laying aside the differences that have separated us for far too long.  We are committed to focusing on the thing that unites us, Christ!  I honestly have never experienced unity from five different pastors and five different congregations like that of last night.

This event was set up to change lives by feeding the hungry in our community during the Holiday Season, but it wound up changing ME!  A change that will affect my life forever.  I now see that together we can accomplish more and that we are better functioning as ONE CHURCH instead of my one church.

Thank You to ONE PRAYER which was the cause of two pastors meeting together some months ago to pray and discuss the series of ONE Prayer together.  Then they invited me and I was the third pastor to join and then there were five!  And now we've grown to six.   What was met to have been a few meetings to discuss ONE PRAYER is now a twice a month prayer and support gathering for us.  The brotherhood is awesome.  Only God knows the future for our community but with this type of unity I foresee a city wide awaking coming soon.

Thanks to Denny Truett of Victory Life Fellowship, Kenny Morrison of Grace Christian Fellowship, Scott Miller of Legacy Church, Zac Christian at H2O Church, and Bob Davis of The Church of the Nazarene for your leadership in leading your teams to pull off such an event.

And, thanks to all the good people of Crosspointe for showing up in great numbers to help serve our community and feed 400 families...you all possess a heart of service that blows me away!

Finally, thanks to my friend Mickey Hensley at Feed the Children that helped make this event a reality for us!

ARE YOU SERIOUS, SERIOUSLY!!!

Christmas Ad Campaign Promotes Godless Morality

InfoThe American Humanist Association announced a new advertising campaign this week promoting morality without religion that will feature ads on more than 200 Metrobuses in Washington D.C. "Why believe in a god?" the ad reads. "Just be good for goodness' sake." Humanist leaders say they believe it is the first ad campaign of its kind in the United States; it follows plans announced by atheists in London to place bus ads that say "There's probably no God. Now stop worrying and enjoy your life," starting in January. The American Family Association calls the ads "stupid," saying that God defines morality, and individuals defining what's good for themselves will result in a "crazy world." The dean of the Liberty University School of Law Matthew Staver, said, "It's the ultimate grinch to say there is no God at a time when millions of people around the world celebrate the birth of Christ. Certainly, they have the right to believe what they want, but this is insulting." Best-selling books by authors such as Richard Dawkins and Christopher Hitchens have fueled interest in "the new atheism"—a more in-your-face argument against God's existence.

Great Quote I am pondering...

Where there is slack there's lack, but where there is vision there's provision!!!

After our Gathering there will be a Spaghetti Dinner in the Fellowship Hall to raise money for our Women's Ministries.  MMMM, can't wait!
