Landmark day for Samaritans Ministry!

Today something really special took place at Crosspointe Church as our Samaritans Ministry distributed groceries to 74 Families!!!  For me, it was one of those "wow" moments in life that I will never be able to forget and it was a landmark day for for our church!

It was amazing to witness all the people come, but it was even more amazing to experience how smooth the operation ran.  It was seamless as we distributed 31 sacks of groceries in the first 5 minutes!!!  The line outside of our building seemed forever long, but from the word "Go" there was an impeccable plan of action in place that made today's ministry so enjoyable.   With that said, I must thank Sue Martin, Bonnie Ringwald, and the many people who volunteered to help us reach people in our community!

During the food distribution the verse found in Matthew 25:40 kept coming to mind.  Here it is in "The Message" Bible - "Then the King will say, ‘I’m telling the solemn truth: Whenever you did one of these things to someone overlooked or ignored, that was me—you did it to me."

GREAT JOB CROSSPOINTE TEAM!

Sunday, May 25

Everyone is invited...

For those who are interested - I will be leading prayer in the Main Auditorium from 9:00 AM till 10:00 AM each Sunday.  It is low key but a great time of refreshing.  Today we prayed for the worship band, the lost of our community,  and God's presence to surround us.

God is so faithful!

Today was just awesome!  I have to be honest - I had very low expectations being that it is Memorial Day Weekend and many of our core people are out of town.  I figured it would be another 'normal' Sunday Gathering for us.  Oh how I was wrong.  God really was there and peoples lives were forever changed by Him.

It all began with amazing worship.  Our band keeps getting better and better each week.  I really appreciate their dedication to our church.

I kicked off a new series on Prayer!  I laid out the idea that prayer isn't important.  Yeah, you read that correct and I did say "Prayer isn't important."  It's beyond important - it is vital!!! Prayer is as vital for Christians as water is for fish and oxygen is for humans.   Prayer is simply the life blood of the church.  As you can tell - I am excited about this new series.

FIVE people accepted Christ is our services today.  One couple came due to our churches efforts to feed people!  That was awesome.

Now it is time for some well deserved R & R for today.  I am looking forward to Wednesday Night.

Team Prayer

Last night we kicked of a new series entitled "ourTEAM."  I shared how powerful corporate prayer is and how we must come together, as a team, to pray.  I hope you enjoy...

The Vitality of Prayer

PRAYER IS NOT IMPORTANT!

There is a starch difference between something that is important and something that is VITAL.  Although there are things in our lives that are important and of high priority they are not a matter of life and death.  However, those things that are vital are the things we cannot live without such as food, water, and oxygen.

For a fish water is its source of vitality.  If you were to take a fish out of its environment of water it wouldn't live long!  For a fish water is vital.

For human-beings oxygen is a source of vitality.  If at any time one was placed in an environment that didn't offer oxygen death would ensue after a short time. Oxygen is vital for humans.

For a Christian prayer is vital.  It is a matter of life or death for the believer.  Therefore, prayer is not important it is vital.

“Prayer is the oxygen for the soul!”

Launching this Wednesday Night!!!

Launching this Wednesday Night at 7:00 PM in the Fellowship Hall is "ourTEAM" a new sieries that will focus on TEAM Ministry.  This week I am praying for a new, fresh insight to be released as we study Team Prayer!!!

Incredible Sunday

WOW!  We had an incredible Sunday Gathering at the Crosspointe this weekend.  Our Youth Pastor Scott Oltmans invited his former Youth Pastor Kim Babcock to come and minister as we honored Seniors who are graduating from High School this year.   Kim and his wife Shari spoke and encouraged our congregation that God still performs miracles today.  I thought it was an amazing follow up to our series "ACTS: A Dynamic Church."

I encourage you with what Kim shared from Ephesians  to be a church of power and influence and not of eloquence and style.  Let's believe together that God is going to do great things in us and through us this year!

Great Quote...

I am reading this book that I recently received by Brian Houston, pastor of Hillsong Church in Australia titled, "For this I was Born."  There is a great quote from chapter 3 that I want to share with you....

"A VISION IS SOMETHING YOU POSSESS, BUT THE CASUE POSSESSES YOU!"

What is the cause of your vision?  What is the purpose?  Defining this will give you a fire in your belly that cannot be quenched and will remain burning throughout your life.

It's really all about community...

One thing I really admire about the early church (described in Acts) is how they shared their lives together in what we would call community.  I love the way that they prayed together, ate at homes together, and worshiped God together.  What a great sense of accountability.

Community is something that Crosspointe's leadership team has been very intentional about the last several months.  And, last night at the annual Mother/Daughter Banquet was a time of abundant community.  My wife and daughter came home so excited b/c of the amazing turn out, the ridiculous games they played, the prizes she won, and the amazing food they shared together. Oh, and I got to partake in much of that food and it was AMAZING!  We are blessed with some wonderful cooks at Crosspointe!

I so appreciate Sherri Cantrell and the Women's Ministry Team for their dedication!  Keep up the great work!

Weekend to Antlers

Thank YOU!!!

Thank you for the many gifts that you gave me for my birthday last week.  Your generosity in blessing me with cards, gifts, love offerings, and prayers was greatly appreciated.

Your financial support will allow Jennifer, Haleigh, and I to travel to Mexico to minister to a couple different congregations, connect with several missionaries and spend quality time together as a family.

I truly appreciate the hard work of so many who developed a great video, pulled off a wonderful surprise party, and provided great food for the entire church!

Again, thank you and I am grateful for the love and support that you continue to show me and my family.

Looking Ahead...

1.  This Sunday is Miracle Sunday!  Come expecting God to move in a great and mighty way in your life.

2.  Friday is my normal day off to rest, relax, hang with my daughter, and clean the house, but this morning was different.  I awoke at 3:30 AM and went to work by 4:00.  What's the urgency?  Well, I am creating our churches first ever strategy to prepare for the future.  There are many new things to come for this August as we prepare our church to grow substantially in the near future.  Habakkuk 2:2 says to "write the vision down," so I've taken heed to those words and am typing everything out.  My fingers hurt!

3.  To give  you an idea of what's coming.  We will be launching Prayer Teams, Outreach Teams, First Impression Teams, and a "I'm New" CLASS!

4.  I get to hang out with my family this weekend.  It is my sister's birthday so I am sure we will have cake to eat!!!

5.  I love Starbucks!  I do wish that the wireless at Ada's store worked better, but I still find myself going there a few days a week!

6.  I am so looking forward to attending the first ever United Pastors Network in Dallas, TX to gain ideas from some of the World's leading pastors.  I know God is going to use this network to really grow and stretch me!
